Polish Consul General Visits Cabramatta
Henry Iglinski

The Polish Consul General, Mr. Daniel Gromann, was a special guest of the Polish Association Cabramatta and Seniors on Wednesday December 9, 2009, at the White Eagle Hall. The Cabramatta Seniors have Bingo and lunch every Wednesday and this was their last activity for 2009. Fr. Krzysztof Chwalek and Fr. Jozef Kolodziej were also special guests of the Seniors.

The traditional sharing of an 'oplatek', accompanied by good wishes etc., took place with an introduction by Fr. Chwalek. Around 120 seniors attended the lunch and were served smoked trout and salad. The Seniors were grateful to guest Halina Gad for leading them in the singing of Christmas carols with her beautiful voice.

The committee members of the Polish Association and Seniors took the opportunity to have a group photo with Mr. Gromann. It was noted that Mr. Gromann has been busy attending many Polish activities during this year, including the presentation of medals to three members of the Society of Christ, namely, Fr. Franciszek Feruga, Fr. Jozef Kolodziej and Fr. Zbigniew Pajdak.

The President of the Polish Association, Krystyna Cyron, presented Mr. Gromann with photos taken of his attendance at the 50-Year Celebrations of the Society of Christ at Bankstown and Marayong.
