The Strzelecki Graphic Competition officially announced
"Strzelecki and his team - achieving together"

The Cultural Foundation of Puls Polonii, with the support of the Kosciuszko National Park and the Polish Consulate in Australia, wishes to announce a graphic competition Paul Edmund Strzelecki and his Team – Achieving Together.

The aim of the competition is to build a library of iconic images documenting Sir Strzelecki’s explorations in the Snowy Moutains and the Gippsland District, highlighting the input of the Aboriginal guides in the discoveries.

The competition is open for professionals and amateurs, children and adults.

Over $ 4,000 AUD dollars is allocated for the winners. First prize $1,000, awarded by the Polish Consul General. There will be a number of additional prizes depending on the number and nature of entries. Puls Polonii will offer $500 to the best item linked with the theme “A flower for Adyna”.

Competition items may be in the form of cartoons, caricature, drawings, paintings, computer graphics,or collages incorporating the existing iconography.

Competition jury will be made of renowned artists: Zbigniew Bilyk of Sydney , Grzegorz Dabrowa of Sydney, Wojtek Pietranik of Canberra, and Ernestyna Skurjat-Kozek as the organiser of the competition.

Competition items no larger than A4 in size (copies of bigger originals accepted), must be received by 27th February 2009. Send them (along with your name, age, address, telephone number & e-mail address) to:

The awarded works will be exhibited during K’Ozzie Fest 2009 in Jindabyne and Cooma and will be published in a special festival Anthology “Sir Strzelecki – in the spirit of Teamwork and Harmony”.

Winners will be officially announced on 19th of April 2009 during festivities in Cooma.

Artists may also use any other sources which help recreate the spirit of the 1840 period.
