Mound & Mt Kosciuszko Music Competition
Cultural Foundation of Puls Polonii
The Second Mound and Mt Kosciuszko Festival will be held in Jindabyne & Cooma on 18-20th April 2008.

The Cultural Foundation of Puls Polonii under the patronage of the Polish Consulate in Sydney & Kosciuszko National Park announces a new music & poetry competition for young people under 25 - and separately for people over 25 - promoting the following topics:

1. General Tadeusz Kosciuszko and his significance for the Australian Heritage
2.Sir Paul Edmund Strzelecki and his Legacy
3. Mt Kosciuszko and the Snowy Mountains
4. Migrant Workers of the Snowy Hydro Scheme
5. Stanislaw Blum, Snowy Hydro engineer, and Benefactor of the Blum Foundation.

Competition entries can be submitted in English or Polish, or mixed. The following forms will be accepted: songs, prose or poetry, lyrics or musical compositions inspired by, or relevant to, the subject matter listed above.

PRIZES:
The following prizes will be awarded.

Ist prize for either a song or musical composition $1,000
2nd prize $ 550 & 3rd prize $300

Ist prize for poetry or lyrics to a song $800 2nd prize $ 350 & 3rd prize $ 100

Sponsors may also provide special awards or prizes, and should discuss their proposals with the organisers.

Special information packages on the above subjects will be provided in the Polish-Australian internet magazine "Puls Polonii" and other media.

Entries should be submitted by 29 February 2008.
Competition results will be announced in March 2008.

The Special Award Ceremony will be held at the “Mound and Mt Kosciuszko Festival 2008”, as part of a Special Concert highlighing the premier public performances of the winners.

The winner and the best texts will be published in Polish and Australian media. Organisers reserve the rights to publish and promote the material which is the purpose of the competition.

The make-up of the jury will be announced soon.
