I don’t suppose we knew what the weather was like and the time of day when Strzelecki and his party walked along the Murray Valley towards the High Country. If it was anything like it was when I went for my walk this morning, one could imagine that there might have been a quality in the beauty of the landscape that became part of the call of the High Country.Incidentally, next year’s theme for The Man from Snowy River Bush Festival Elyne Mitchell Photo Story Awards is The Call of the High Country. I’ll attach this year’s brochure as the entries are still open and will close on 20 March.
