Marayong - A Tribute to the Wisdom of Our Pioneers
John Molski

From the PP Editor: After having watched a historic video reccommended by John Molski (See the Odpust story) I have asked John to tell us more about the archival footage as well as about the fascinating story of building Polish Marayong. And this is John's response.

Secret Historic Video Provokes Contemplation About Marayong’s Future. That pre-eminent sage Solomon well understood that wisdom is a gift from God: “For He is the guide of Wisdom and the Director of the Wise.” (Wisdom, 7:15). Furthermore wise people always heed lessons from the experiences of others.

These photos, links and video depict very important early post WW2 Polish community life in Australia. Together, they weave a miraculous, multi-dimensional and inspirational story of courage and triumph of ordinary folk to achieve the impossible, in the face of unprecedented terror and hardship. This precious story unlocks their proven secrets to ultimate success and provides guidance to our own quest for rational happiness in an uncertain and rapidly changing world. Are we sufficiently wise to heed their lessons?

Take a very good look at each of the adults in these photos. It is highly probable that many of them did not have any formal High School education. They all broke their teeth (so to speak) in the School of Hard Knocks and the University of Real Life. But each of these people has earned the right to teach even the most credentialed professor about reality as opposed to fantasy. They have this right, because they created significant world history. So stand up as a mark of your respect and awe, to acknowledge that you are looking at some of the wisest people ever to have lived in Australia. Indeed many readers can recognise their parents, grand-parents or even great grand-parents in these photos.

These photos were developed from stills of film documentaries recording the early history of the Polish Catholic Centre at Marayong. The films were discovered in the archives of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, to whom the Polish Community entrusted the management of the Polish Catholic Centre at Marayong.

To commemorate the 60th Anniversary of their service in Australia this year, the Sisters produced a DVD from these archived films depicting the Centre’s early stages in 1957 and Archbishop Rubin’s pilgrimage in 1968. The experiences of World War 2 were still fresh and raw in people’s minds. The video can be viewed by clicking on this link:

Building Marayong was the perfect way our Pioneers could thank God and His Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church for their robust faith necessary to survive and vanquish the unprecedented Godless barbaric terror they were forced to confront during World War 2. Furthermore they wanted to leave future Polonian generations an outstandingly beneficial asset where the next generation could practically strengthen their own faith in the traditional civilised Polish way: so crucial a weapon to cope with whatever difficulties life may throw in their path.

What lessons can we learn from the tragic experiences of our fore-parents?

Godless evil robbed them of their childhood. Defenceless and facing total annihilation, only God rescued them from despair during World War 2. They were faithful to the eternally relevant values reflected in the epithet that has always provided Polish people direction to success in time of disaster: “Bòg, Honor, Ojczyzna”. God rewarded their trust and invigorated their spiritual strength such that their courage to resist evil was much stronger than their fear of death. Their determination in building the vast Marayong complex underlines their importance of inculcating these tested virtues into the Souls of their children and descendants.

Of course, God gave us free will so everybody has choices to make: some wise, some otherwise. Almost always the easy way out leads to endless misery but the correct choices involve substantial sacrifice and ultimate victory. Our Pioneers in these pictures could’ve taken an easy path and avoided confronting evil during the war by, for instance, converting to be treacherous volksdeutsche. Nevertheless actions have consequences, as you can observe when a stupid rat is duped by the temptation of cheese that triggers his demise in a rat trap. As an example of the faith that enabled these ordinary people to achieve extraordinary feats in the face of horrific adversity, research the heroics of the scriptwriter of this video: the former RAF Squadron Leader Bolesław Korpowski. To help you, here is one of many links randomly selected from Google:

Each and every one of the adults in these photos likewise played their own special part in vanquishing the horrendous Godless tyranny that threatened to destroy the World. They suffered to enable us to peacefully rejoice in wisely plucking the rich fruits of liberty. In the spirit of sacrifice, to protect their children from another scourge of communism inflicted upon their beloved Poland by the Godless wicked, they emigrated to Australia. Here they had to break through a different layer of struggles so necessary to build a successful and secure future for their family. Success is only ever achieved by conquering the barriers of fear. Here is an excellent link to a photo album of character building life in a typical post-war Australian migrant camp:

Sustained by their vigorous Polish Catholic Faith, they wasted nothing in their new country and eked out a frugal living to patiently build solid foundations for future success. Deprived by circumstances themselves, they understood that the paramount gift to their children would be to invest in the best education they could afford.

Yet here too, in their God-given wisdom, our parents and ancestors foresaw generations ahead into the future. Knowledge comes relatively easily, but wisdom always lingers behind. An education divorced from God is at least vacuous and a complete waste of time: at best it promotes evil.

Nowadays modern youth is impressively credentialed, with a plethora of higher learning qualifications. However, some of this modern “education” serves as a downright sham for the same brazen leftoid atheist indoctrination that attempted to ruin the lives of our parents.

Paradoxically such an education has inculcated into many of our youth a fear to rationally debate things that matter. Some of them confuse the hurling of abuse mixed with profanities for educated debate. They cannot distinguish prime, validated evidence from rumours and contradictions. They avoid coherent thinking because of their inability to craft a well-reasoned set of logical arguments to effectively prosecute any proposition they may be defending. Their indoctrination instinctively mocks the wisdom of others. Our fore-parents experienced the horrors of Nazi and Communist Socialism. Our Pioneers needed effective insurance to prevent their children from being inflicted by such terribly destructive ideologies sponsored by Godless academics.

Once more their wisdom came to the fore. With donations of hard-earned pennies and shillings and using their bare hands they unselfishly sacrificed their lifestyle to build the Polish Catholic Church at Marayong and the Spiritual complex it has become today.

Few other ethnic groups in Australia can boast of such a facility. Look at the joy in the faces of these proven Champions. The most efficient way to gain knowledge is through supervised study at an educational institution. The most efficient way to get fit is supervised training guided by experts at the gym. They knew that the most effective way to imbrue Goodness into a young Soul is by nourishing from the Blessed Sacraments at God’s own Catholic Church. The benefits are precious to the survival of the civilised world.

Participating in the Holy Mass at Marayong lets you experience the omnipotent power of silence. Holy Mass is a refuge from the many noisy and unproductive distractions of the secular world that prevent people from optimally achieving their dreams. Participation requires strong self-discipline and concentrated focus. Regular participation commemorating Jesus’ suffering on the Cross for our redemption effectively inculcates respect for other people. By definition faith is galvanised by incredulity. For example, the aeroplane would never have been invented without a strong belief in the proposition that people could fly.

There is no greater incredulity than Faith in the Doctrine of Transubstantiation. It is only at Holy Mass you get to witness the miracle of the Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist changing, in actual reality, into the body and blood of Jesus Christ. This is the quality of strength of Faith that inspired our Pioneers to perform their own miracles in the face of unbelievable adversity. Surrendering to the peaceful ambience of Holy Mass makes us docile in obeying divine inspirations without need for reflection. Your regular sacrifice at Holy Mass at Marayong will indelibly imbrue you with the same precious inspiration and courage that transformed your parents into superheroes.

You can feel two forces constantly fighting inside your soul: good and evil. Good will always defeat evil. It is only when good is weakened, that evil fills the void. When you neglect strengthening your goodness you will reach a point of no return when evil appropriates your soul beyond redemption. Just study the demographic statistics from the latest Australia Census for your district available on your Council’s website. You’ll consistently find the regions weak in Christian Faith are devastated by high crime rates, suffer other significant social problems, lack initiative (evidenced by over-reliance on government and low incomes) and have low property values.

Unfortunates not protected by the strong armour of resolute Faith in God honed to a fine edge through His Holy Catholic Church are easily ruined like flies before a can of Mortein. The singular purpose of evil is to furtively destroy God’s goodness. Conversely, these statistics will prove that happiness factors take over in regions where strong Christian Faith starves evil from thriving.

Nowadays people are generally much more educated so we probably should never experience the large scale, hideous armed warfare that previously engulfed the whole world that our Pioneers had to survive. However, present indications are that the next World-wide disaster will be even more destructive because it’s evolving into a subtle battle for the possession of the human Soul. We’ve already experienced a prelude.

There is a strong positive correlation between continuing Global Financial Crisis (GFC) and the Global Moral Crisis (GMC). Who knows what other depravities will be inflicted by powerful but immoral Godless leaders?

But our Pioneers knew in their wisdom that Holy Mother Church is not just a place of worship, and Faith building. It is also the perfect training facility where wise Polonian youth can develop moral leadership. Marayong is supported by a strong Parish Council whose members have achieved their goals and are in the sunset of their lives. They possess a variety of life skills and a wealth of experience which they volunteer to grow the Polish Catholic Complex at Marayong. They are ideal role models eager to mentor young people who may have the courage to seize the opportunity to rise above the rabble.

Effective leadership implies motivating a team to embrace a duty of service and confront responsibility in order to morally achieve a defined objective. Mentored at Marayong, Polish youth will develop true moral leadership which is one of humble service and fealty to duty. Moral leadership is the enemy of the tyranny of entitlement and covetousness of power which corrupts the pseudo-leaders of the modern world and causes much of the ruin in our lives. Only sheep follows Godless, destructive fads. Moral leadership has the ability to identify evil and courageously destroy it before it destroys us.

Where are you in the following video, that’s being re-enacted in a different disguise today?

Famous song from the CABARET movie

Thousands of years ago, primitive ancients wrote in Genesis under Divine inspiration that God made the world out of nothing. It is only now that the world’s scientific geniuses are incredulously slowly proving the veracity of the Spiritual inspirations recorded in the Sacred Scriptures. Empowered with nothing but the strength of their Polish Catholic Faith the Polish Pioneers in these pictures courageously survived the unprecedented brutality of World War 2. With nothing but their indestructible Faith they peacefully eradicated of the ravages of communism from Poland and substantially weakening the onslaught of socialism from wreaking chaos on the world.

In Australia, driven by their thanksgiving to God for His inspiration in their achievements they built the Polish Catholic Complex in Marayong on the strong foundation of their Faith. Marayong is a miracle of voluntary service dedicated for the benefit of the younger generation of Polish Australians. There is no greater spiritually valuable Polonian facility in Australia. Rest assured others are envious of the value of our Polish Marayong Catholic Complex and the competitive moral advantage it provides us in the intellectual development of our people. Our beloved Catholic Church at Marayong is an indestructible spiritual fortress of good that will always securely protect you against the corrosive forces of evil!

Our Polish Pioneers assumed that the younger generation would inherit their thirst to transform knowledge into wisdom, which is the pre-requisite for success. “You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink it” is an excellent metaphor to describe the idiosyncrasies of people’s reticence to respond to the call of duty. It doesn’t take any effort to be a donkey.

The values so succinctly expressed by the epithet “Bòg, Honor, Ojczyzna" are even more vital to survival in a modern world rapidly sinking into depravity.

Many questions will be answered in the next 10 to 15 years. Have our younger generation the courage to actively defend the precious heritage of their parents? When will the next generation of Polonian leaders rise above their peers and inspire Marayong to even to greater glory? Has the next generation of impressively academically credentialed youth the wisdom to exploit the proven Spiritual opportunities that Marayong provides them to be winners in real life or will their apathy shamelessly trash the heritage and sacrifices of their parents?

When will our youth use their wisdom honed to a sharp edge at Marayong, to ambitiously lead our nation to moral glory? Perhaps Puls Polonii can be a catalyst for debate on these compelling issues which can also serve as a preview to the future?
