NAIDOC Week 2011 started in Berridale on Saturday 9th July 2011 at 9,30 am with representatives of the Polish community. In fact there were three flags made flying up: the Aboriginal, the Australian and the Torres Islandanders. The Ngarigo community was represented by elders Aunty Rae (seen with a grand daughter) and Aunty Deannah (with a grand son).
Director of NSW National Parks Dave Darlington seen here with Sharon Anderson. The ceremony in Berridale: Mayor Tony Cahill and the guests. The ceremony of raising the flag: Neen Pendergast and Rod Mason.
The Tumut Team is here. Polish-Aboriginal reunion after a year or so... Aunty Deannah with her little grand son.

Enjoying morning tea after the ceremony in the park. Guess how many Ngarigo children and grandchildren turned out today? More than last year, of course. After the chilling winter ceremony - a morning tea at Berridale Community Centre.
What a sweet boy with his mum. We'll see more of him. This is how I look before eating creamy cakes. And what do they do to me?
Are you calling me a cream boy? Perhaps rightly so... Morning tea - lively discussion. Ready to go to Dalgety?
Yeah, lets go and enjoy the BBQ. And here we are in Dalgety. Sawpitt Educational Centre employees Rod Mason with Pat Darlington.
A beauty resting. Two wise women: Aunty Rae with Councillor Neen Pendergast. Smoking ceremony at Dalgety.
Young Ngarigo boy witnessing the smoking ceremony. Learning the traditional skills. Some do learn, some have already learnt...
Learning plaiting.... ..takes patience... Ngarigo kids learning.
Making progress... Dad, do they know how tallented I am? Nothing to do with plaiting. THIS is my hobby!
If anybody thinks he or she can stand in my way.... I'll always find my way!... ...and go forward to victory!
No matter what obstacles, I am going to be the Australian rugby champion!
