NAIDOC WEEK 2010. Flag raising ceremony at Banjo Paterson Park, Jindabyne. The Strzelecki monument can be seen right behind the Aboriginal flag. The one who ascended and named Mt Kosciuszko -- Paul Edmund Strzelecki Monument in Jindabyne (designed by late Jerzy Sobicinski of Poznan, Poland). NAIDOC Week - and the slogan for 2010 is... Mayor John Cahill (right) wit two Ngarigo Elders: Aunty Rae (left) and Aunty Deanna (middle).

Ngarigo Elders with Jindabyne students ...only Matthew seems to feel warm... Cold weather, warm feelings. Aunty Rae (right) with Ernestyna
Our grandchildren - our pride - our future. Off to a nice and warm Memorial Hall where an exhibition prepared by Cooma kids could have been viewed. A Painting by Mandie Fox The big boss busy grilling.
Yeah, time to have lunch. Lucille with her family. Coordinator of the Community Stage Building Committee, Peter Williams with a guest from Sydney. Famous ranger Rod Mason...now retired.
Time for a walk. There are some new benches built in the park. Another new bench: head of a warrior with his tounge sticking out. One could comfortably sit on that tounge and admire the beautiful landscape. Manmade Jindabyne Lake with some most beautiful little islands.
Off to Dalgety... to community hall located opposite the historic pub. (Photo Wikipedia). Dalgety. For Ngarigo it is an important return to the roots and a family reunion. What a variety of hot food for dinner! All prepared by Dalgety Community Association led by Vicky Wallace. And what's next?
Watch another exhibition. A painting by Mandie Fox. Some heartwarming speeches. From left: Aunty Deanna, Aunty Rae, Dave Darlington, Neen Pendergast & Brett Miners. Yes, there are some problems with keeping the Ngarigo people on the map of New South Wales. Diplomas of recognition to Aunties for having taken part in Kozzie Fest 2010... and Kosciuszko Mound books donated to Aboriginal children.
And off to Charlotte Pass Village via Perisher Valley... it was rather busy here. The road to Charlotte Pass Village is closed so we have to take an oversnow vehicle...though there is (almost) no (natural) snow. Arrived at the majestic Kosciuszko Chalet Hotel. Michelle Louvin, the manager of Kosciuszko Hotel (left) promising to read the Storozynski book about Kosciuszko. This and some other books had been presented to our new sponsor Kevin Blyte. Kevin, being a low profile millionaire, chose not to be photographed, though he was kind enough to invite us to lunch.
Wow, a piano? Kohler & Campbell!
Kosi Bistro with internet. If only we can imagine having Kosciuszko Run and Kosciuszko Fiesta 2011 here? Kosciuszko Vodka & Kosciuszko Wines & Kosciuszko Beer tasting here?! Wow! Magic carpet for beginners.
An icy stream for beginners who aim wrongly? Brrrrr! No comments. Trying the new chairlift, up to the platform with a great view on Mt Kosciuszko. On the way up...flying over skiers.
Do you want more snow? No problem. A bit costly but possible. Up and up...
We are almost on top of Australia. And what can you see if you look right? You can not see anything because there are some people on the platform... So where is Mt Kosciuszko? Right behind this woman.
So there it is! The roof of Australia! And what a surprise! Somebody cared bringing a carrot & dried dates to the heights to make o complete snowman. And going back down...
And they are going down, too. Bum ride. Is it more fun or simply cheaper this way? Back at the Village. Stillwell Lodge. This is where
